The EU-funded AI-CODE initiative, coordinated by DST – Creative Tech Company under the Horizon Europe programme, brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of media, academic and technology partners to develop advanced AI-driven tools that help journalists detect manipulated content, verify multimedia sources, and assess information credibility in increasingly complex digital environments, including emerging spaces such as the metaverse and fediverse. Over its three-year duration, the project will test and refine these solutions in real newsroom settings while providing training and guidelines to support the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence, ultimately strengthening resilience against disinformation and reinforcing trust in digital journalism.
